I know most of these expressions but I couldn't tell the difference between 'a long time ago' and 'in the past'. And I don't know what 'way off in the future' means. Could anyone explain these things for us?
Thanks!
A: When did you go to that restaurant? B: I went sometime in the past. A: Sometime in the past? Does that mean last night? Two months ago? Five years ago? B: Oh, I went a long time ago back in 1995.
Way [off] in the future라는 표현의 의미: 앞으로는... 내일이나 다음 주아니라 10년후에
예를 들으면:
Ayana: Yousung, when are you coming to America? Sometime way in the future? Yousung: Nah, I'll be in Georgia this October, in the near future.
제가 그 차이를 설명할 수 있어서 도와줄게요! ^^
답글삭제A long time ago = 과거, '옛날 옛날에' 같은 의미만
In the past = 과거, '전에'라는 의미 (아까나 얼마전에나 예전에)
예를 들면:
A: When did you go to that restaurant?
B: I went sometime in the past.

Oh my god. That was perfect explanations! Now I'm able to differentiate one from another. wow! You're an awesome teacher. Thanks, Ayana.
